Over the past four fun-packed summers, Dynamite Baseball Camps have taught more than a thousand Bay Area youths ranging from beginner to pre-high schoolers in a fun learning atmosphere led by a great cadre of experienced youth coaches. Mixing fast-paced drills and stations with competitive games, the action is both fun and educational at the same time.
The Dynamite Summer 2012 program now in our 5th year works campers into appropriate age- and skill-based mini-programs. Jeff Packman, Director, leads the staff in the Gold Division comprised of older more experienced boys working their way toward high school tryouts. Manny Kopstein leads the Silver Stars Division of younger players who are experienced and also fairly new to the sport.

Camp Philosophy
Our "Dynamite Approach" to Developing Young Players is to provide a fertile learning environment through Fun and Games. Dynamite Summer Baseball Camps builds the "fun" into every aspect of our camp kids' summer experience! We make sure our young campers enjoy their camp hours while they learn new skills and polish the old through a progressive and exciting curriculum.
The Dynamite Camps weekly skills progression is taught through a variety of baseball games, many competitive and all played in groups within each Camper's age and ability. We encourage development of good baseball "habits" and keep kids' attention at a high level by awarding prizes for hustle, effort and achievement. The core goal is a fun summer baseball experience.

Philosophy and Mission: Teach Baseball Fundamentals and a Love of Baseball Through a Dynamic Summer Baseball Camp Experience Featuring Drills, Stations and Fun Games
The consistent feedback on Dynamite Baseball Camps from campers and parents over our four+ years is that every kid had a lot of fun! After all, what can be boring about our Home Run Derby, shooting squirt guns and water cannons, diving down water slides, being splashed by a water balloon at 40 feet or buffeting around a mosh pit? Or playing "Pepper," "Over the Line," "500", hitting the cages and many other games with and without the bat and ball?
Dynamite Baseball Camps' experienced staff of youth coaches gets all campers involved in having fun by acting as positive role models for our young players. We believe coaches can be among the most influential adults in a young player"s life, and that this starts by praising a boy's achievements and sportsmanship while constructively improving his skills.
Our mission is to instill, and continue to foster, a love for the game of baseball. To achieve that goal, we build fun into every possible Camp activity. Campers learn baseball skills almost incidentally by having fun playing baseball through a variety of games. Our staff employs drills, stations, and active games with the ball to keep players interested and motivated so they are always learning. Our coaches motivate players through constructive, positive feedback. Each player should come away with a sense of significance both as an individual and as a member of the teams he will play with during the week's camp activities.
Sportsmanship and encouragement of each other at all times is our priority. We expect players to respect the game, respect teammates and coaches and respect their opponents. Teaching kids how to be good teammates is a life skill. As coaches, our best compliment is to honor a camper at the end of each day as a kid who gives his best and shows excellent improvement and a master of fundamentals!
We stress effort + improvement over scores and winning. Players "win" by being praised for playing at their best. Baseball cards, Certificates of Achievement and praise are "rewards" at Dynamite Baseball Camps. The main objective for each player at the end of the day is to feel that they have had fun and are a better ball player. Player and parent feedback are encouraged in helping us achieving our mission.
Coach Jeff Packman
Coach Packman has more than five years experience coaching youth travel baseball. For two of those five years he was assistant coach on the Marin Crushers and during the 2005 season, he coached the 14-U North Bay Extreme travel team. The Extreme placed 6th out of 72 teams at a national tournament in Florida. Last summer, Jeff was an assistant coach for two Future Prospects teams. Coach Packman enjoys coaching youth baseball and preparing boys to play at the High School and Collegiate levels.
Back in high school, Coach Packman made the varsity baseball team as a freshman. He was the number one starter his freshman year on the Redwood team and earned 2nd team All-MCAL honors. In his senior season, he was named MCAL Player of the Year. These honors helped him receive a baseball scholarship to pitch at Sonoma State University. Unfortunately, his college pitching career ended early because of shoulder surgery. He enjoyed his playing days immensely and now loves passing his knowledge on to kids training under his watchful eye.
Coach Manny Kopstein
Manny enjoys teaching core baseball skills to kids and has been a coach for more than 24 years not only for baseball but soccer and softball as well. Manny gives private and group lessons throughout the year and especially enjoys working with younger players and seeing their rapid progress. Regardless which sport he's coached, his teams have a way of winning while relishing the fun learning experience. Manny's recent Little League Majors team, the 2010 Tiburon Giants, won U-12 District Tournament of Champions ("TOC") 1st place honors last year and his teams also played in TOC's as local Champ in 2008 and 2009. Manny claims that "the other Giants" were inspired by his Little League Giants' success to play even better, resulting in the World Series victory for the SF team.
Coach Billy Jack Ryan
Billy Jack Ryan graduated from Redwood High School and was ranked #4 in MCAL in slugging and #6 in overall batting average. Billy Jack played on the 2010 Redwood team that won the MCAL title and currently plays in college in southern California. Billy Jack served as Little League umpire for six years and coached kids both in Majors and Juniors divisions in Twin Cities, Tiburon and helping out at Redwood. Billy Jack trains umpires and coaches kids privately.
Coach Taber Watson
Taber Watson, a Redwood grad, was starting catcher for Redwood's recent MCAL Championship team. and was voted MCAL All League in his junior and senior years. Taber privately coaches Little Leaguers of all ages throughout Marin. Taber currently catches on the COM baseball team.
Dynamite Camp Youth Coaches
Each Summer Coach Packman, Camps Director, puts together an excellent staff of experienced, fun and compassionate youth coaches to staff the many stations and games featured at Dynamite Camps. Look for this year's staff announcements soon!
